Description
There are places that reach into you before you can name what you feel — where the salt air and the ocean do the speaking. Privateer Island is such a place. Privateer Island rises quietly from the sheltered waters of Dover Harbour, cradled within one of the most storied stretches of the Nova Scotia coastline. Less than twenty-five minutes from the lights of Halifax, yet worlds apart from everything ordinary, this small and jewel-like island has remained untouched, undeveloped, and entirely itself. Its eleven parcels of land have been left to the herons and the fog and the tides.
